The purpose of this online audition
- To find talented musicians who will perform in CGIMFT.
- To have performers and their families enjoy their journey to Chiang Mai. We will
do our best to make your stay in Chiang Mai enjoyable. - To deepen relationships with musicians in Chiang Mai.
Benefits for successful applicants
- CGIMFT will offer concerts, workshops, and a performance for elephants.
- CGIMFT will offer accommodations and packaged tours in Chiang Mai. Rooms for five nights with breakfast + tour package
- All performers will receive small fees from the donation box. (Admission to the concert is basically free, but we receive donations.)
- CGIMFT will not cover travel expenses.
- The festival will be held October 31 – November 4.
- The concert venue, performance style and program, performance schedule, rehearsal period with the orchestra, etc. will be announced later.
Terms
Musicians of all nationalities can participate without an age limit.
- Junior A Category: 9 years old or younger as of January 1, 2023
- Junior B Category: from 10 to 12 years old as of January 1, 2023
- Junior C Category: from 13 to 15 years old as of January 1, 2023
- Open Category: 16 years old or older as of January 1, 2023
Repertoire: Required to submit a YouTube link to a performance video.
Participants of all categories can choose the pieces of music to perform in the video.
* The performance in the video does not have to be memorized.
Recording duration and application fee for each category
- Junior A, B Category
Maximum duration 5 min
Application fee 1,800THB (approximately 50 USD) - Junior C Category
Maximum duration 10 min
Application fee 2,500THB (approximately 70 USD) - Open Category
Maximum duration 20 min
Application fee 3,500THB (approximately 100 USD)- Groups (duos, chambers, choirs) can apply using the name of a single representative.
Notice: The application fee must be paid for the number of participants, but with a 30% discount. For example: Five-member chamber group in the open category: 3,500THB × 5 × 70% - Participants residing in Chiang Mai receive a 50% discount on the application fee.
Notice: CGIMFT will not offer accommodation and travel expenses. - All participants will receive comments from the judges on their submitted videos
- Deadline for applications is August 30
- Audition results will be announced on September 10
- Groups (duos, chambers, choirs) can apply using the name of a single representative.
